10 things I learned from living with Schizophrenia

1- Always try to think in a different angle, if someone is angry or abnormal, maybe just maybe they are dealing with a mental illness

2- Once you are diagnosed, you realize theres so much stuff to deal with rather than the illness itself like paranoia, anxiety , high cholestrol, blood sugar..you name it

3- its common, 1 in 4 people have mental issues and that number is increasing

4- in 2030, 30% of canadians will have a mental illness

5-I’m on the recovery path; that means I’ll do everything in my power to overcome the obstacles I might face. It only makes me stronger.” — Matilde Magro

6- having a mental illness makes me aware of myself. I know that I have limits and I dont surpass them. For example at night time I become paranoid so I dont go out

7-the best distraction is employment

8- peer support is crucial, it has proven to lower admissions to hospital and inprove quality of life

9- I learned to talk about my feelings instead of being quiet for so long and thats Major Key

10- Talk with peers, go to groups and get involved. it will help you much more than you think

and lastly but not least, Dont forget to take your meds!! lol
